What’s Your Leadership Style?
Most leaders and managers fall into 1 of 2 leadership styles.
Director/Dominant Style - these leaders like to move far and fast and expect everyone else to keep up. They do more telling than asking and push themselves and those around them to achieve more. The challenge for these leaders is understanding that not everyone thinks like they do and therefore they need to learn how to connect, engage and build trust.
Nurturer/Carer Style - these leaders are those who like to ensure everyone is ok, that there is a culture of harmony and respect. Everyone loves how much these leaders do for them. Their challenge is that they often over-compensate for skill gaps in their people or teams and stay stuck in the detail, limiting their own career path.
In this video I share how both of these styles are lacking in their ability to build the kind of trust and emotional safety that has people want to try new things, take risks and come up with new solutions. I also share the solution that all leaders can learn to adjust their leadership style to increase results for less effort.
